What I provide
Training and facilitation
I develop and conduct training programs and tailor these to suit your needs. I hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, consolidating my 30 years of experience in adult education. I adapt my extensive, original curriculum to include examples and case studies relevant to your setting. I also create new content and training delivery plans for new issues and different audiences. I provide training for
- employees
- employers, supervisors and managers
- bullying and harassment contact officers and grievance officers
- union members, delegates and officials
- small business and community sector employers
I also offer facilitation for your internal planning processes.
Research and policy advice
I offer solid research and policy skills, with strong content knowledge in industrial relations, workplace equity and work-life balance. I am well recognised for my ability to combine thorough and detailed research with careful analysis and practical advice. See my track record
Writing policies, procedures and guidelines
I can turn your broad policy directions and desired outcomes into policies, procedures and guidelines. I have developed a streamlined method for developing, maintaining and reviewing these documents. This includes not only policy writing, but managing the consultation process through to executive endorsement. See my track record
Grievance investigations
I investigate and handle grievances and complaints dealing with allegations of discrimination, harassment, bullying, child protection and corruption. I conduct impartial, sensitive and confidential investigations and provide you with a report outlining the evidence, findings and recommendations for action. I have independently investigated grievances for many different organisations in the public, local government and community sectors. As a member of the NSW Health panel of recommended human resource grievance investigators since 2005, I’ve conducted many investigations in the public health sector. My reports have provided a sound basis for organisations to deal appropriately with proven unacceptable workplace behaviour or alternatively with vexatious grievances.
Free talks for community non-profit organisations
Please contact me if you are looking for a speaker to talk to your group on industrial relations, pay equity, discrimination and related issues. As a founding member of the National Pay Equity Coalition, I speak on the history of the campaign for equal pay in Australia and current national developments in pay equity. As an independent consultant and researcher, I also enjoy speaking on current developments in industrial relations, work-life balance and discrimination. I am also happy to deliver lectures to university students on these issues at casual academic teaching rates.
